Gathering 2012
Project Gathering (working title: The Potluck) revolves around the importance of collective identity. Our collective global cultural identity is a Mosaic, that is the assimilation of varying influences. The work investigates the concepts of Salad Bowl suggesting the integration and juxtaposing of many different cultures to combine (referred also as “cultural mosaic”).
The work consists of mixed media collage utilizing combinations of traditional multi print processes including relief, etching, dry point, drawing, water color, collograph and stenciling. These mixed media collage print works represent diversity and individuality in today’s global and multi culture environment. Every single work in this installation is like a dish at a social Potluck where every one brings something to share with the Gathering.
